Hi Reader, Have you ever been halfway through your dream trip and suddenly you come down with a pounding headache, or a nastly blister or a dodgy stomach? You search through you bags and you can't find a single blister plaster, pain killer or something to relieve you upset tummy. We've done this a few times, and been left visiting a pharmacy just to pick up the essentials. We've even packed a first aid kit, but forgotten to restock it afterwards. Which is why we now have a fully stocked first aid kit, that we specifically use just for travel. AND after each trip, we make sure it is restocked with all the essentials. It's doesn't have to be a big, clunky old first aid kit, you just need something that is small and practical, that has everything you need in it. Because let's face it, when you’re on the road, it’s not about having everything, it’s about having the right things. So, what do we always pack? And more importantly, why should YOU care?
Ideal for cleaning and keeping nasty infections at bay from any cuts, whether it's a graze on the knee or a mystery scratch.
Long flights, no sleep, new shoes, it’s a headache waiting to happen. We pack both so we’re ready for everything from altitude-induced migraines to post-hike muscle moans.
Now I get bitten by mosquitoes in Sri Lanka. It's not a pretty sight, with all these red spots all over my legs. Now bite creams and repellent, reduces the risk of bites and helps soothe the sting, tame the itch and stops us from scratching all the time.
Street food is glorious… until it’s not. We've had our fare share of stomach upsets over the years from visiting Sri Lanka. At one time or another Shams or I have suffered. Anti sickness and anti diarrhea tablets, can really help alleviate the discomfort and from always going to the toilet.
Sounds obvious, right? But they’re so easy to forget. But this could be life saving. Always make sure you have enough for the trip and some of your important medication packed in your cabin bag. Just in case any checked in baggage goes astray. We have popped all of this into a lightweight seethrough plastic bag, in the event of needing to remove this at airport security. It's simple, stress-free and it gives us that priceless peace of mind, that we can handle whatever comes our way, on every trip. Want to find out our full list of what is packed in our travel first aid kit? You can get the full breakdown and exactly why each item earns its place. You don't need to overpack, but you do need to be prepared. Think of it like travel insurance in a first aid kit form. Whether you're off for a short weekend city break, or backpacking, a little planning can go a long way when things go sideways. What’s the one item you always pack in your first aid kit, no matter the trip? Have you ever had a travel mishap where a first aid kit saved the day? Is there something you wish you had packed on a past trip? Hit reply, we’d love to hear what’s worked (or not worked!) for you. Latest blog post:
